Visualization
This morning I was watching Nat Geo Reveals on the National Geographic.
A young talented gymnast, Rebecca, was trying to perfect one of her moves but of no avail. She was then made to relax and go through her movements in her mind clearly. Each move she was to do on the parallel bars, she rehearsed explicitly in her mind. And then she tried to once again attempt that complicated move on the bars. Lo. She was able to perfectly execute it in a smooth and easy manner. And I still remember her beautiful smile once she finished the move.
Learned scientists explained what happened here. It seems that there is an area in the brain where pathways are to be made for any sort of movement or action to happen seamlessly in the outer world. In the case of Rebecca, these brain pathways were to be exercised either at the gym or even in her mind. Both built up the pathways and when executed in the physical world it showed the exact result.
This is nothing but the mental programming that we are all talking about all the time. If you think right thoughts and focus on acheiving what you want, the chances are very high that when the opportunity arrives you will be able to perform and out perform and reach the goal of your dreams. It is important that you first develop the personality that you want to be in life, initially in your mind. Make the picture clear. And then the higher mechanisms will work towards making pathways to achieve your goal. And that is the time that you need to physically work towards your goal.
Many people without realizing this process seem to just work in a 9 - 5 treadmill kind of job doing the same thing over and over and over again and again......and then cursing ill luck, fate, destiny, an unfair world...an unjust God etc etc
If only they would stop.... Think.... Decide..... and then act, I am sure the will be much ahead in their lives than what they are now. Muscles develop only when you work on them. Life improves only when you work on it.
Dont get on. Get Ahead. That is what matters.
